The East Valley has become one of the most
dynamic regions in the country with record
growth since the 1970's. Mesa, Chandler
and Gilbert have all been among the top
three fastest-growing communities in the
country. The East Valley currently has about
1.25 million residents, which is expected
to expand to about 1.8 million by the year
2025.
This unprecedented growth can be attributed to the following:
- Strong regional governments - Local leaders have significant influence on regional and statewide public policy issues.
- Robust economy
- In response to the favorable economic
conditions, companies such as Intel, Motorola,
The Boeing Co., Banner Healthcare, Spectrum
Astro, TRW and AT&T have major facilities
in the East Valley.
- Efficient and effective transportation - Our newly expanded system reduces the cost of doing business as well as the quality of life for residents - and more improvements are on the way!
- Aviation - Four airports, a growing aviation manufacturing and training sector, excellent year-round flying conditions and competitive aviation credentials make the East Valley attractive to the aviation and aerospace industries.
- World-class tourism
- Some of the finest tourist destinations
in the world are in the East Valley. Championship
golf, amazing scenery, and five-star resorts
make the region very desirable for both
business and leisure travel.
- Exceptional educational system - Education scores and graduation rates are among the highest in the state, and educational leaders have devised a compelling plan called P-20 to take students from preschool through post-graduate level in a comprehensive, results-oriented way.
- Unparalleled quality of life - Distinct neighborhoods and master-planned communities, rapidly growing arts and cultural attractions, and plentiful recreational opportunities make the East Valley one of the best places in the country to live and work.
